PROJECT K‑9 HERO

We are so grateful for the service of our nation’s retired Military Working Dogs and Police K-9 Heroes that we want to honor them in retirement by ensuring the best quality of life for them, by providing assistance with medical costs, food, and end of duty services. We rely on donors like you to fund our project, since there are no public funds for these police and military working dogs. Together we can honor our retired K-9 Heroes.

Meet a few of our dogs

K-9 Flash

K-9 FLASH, who retired in 2013, has been credited with over 3,000 K-9 deployments in her long career and over 2,200 narcotic finds. FLASH now spends her retirement, living in Michigan, with her original handler. She enjoys spending her summers on Lake Huron and her winters playing in the snow. K-9 Jake

K-9 JAKE served his country by searching for explosives for multiple government agencies in Washington, DC, helping to secure one of the nation’s most secure intelligence facilities. JAKE spends his retirement with his handler and his family and enjoys swimming in the lake almost more than he loved working. Click here to read more about K-9 Jake at his bio page.

K-9 Dingo

K-9 DINGO worked for the Washougal (WA) Police Department, conducting high risk search warrants for narcotics. During his career, he participated in over 2,000 K-9 deployments, resulting in millions of dollars in narcotic and cash seizures. DINGO now spends his days lounging with three other dogs. Project K-9 Hero would like to remember and honor Police K-9 Hero “Big Fuzz”, who passed away on December 26th, 2016. K-9 Big Fuzz retired in 2014 at the age of 12 from the Williamson County Sheriff’s office in Texas.
